about Cade Roberts

Praised for his “sensitive, musical, and incredibly intelligent” playing, American pianist Cade Roberts has performed across the United States and Europe including venues such as Carnegie Hall, Pärnu Concert Hall, DiMenna Center for Classical Music, and Mozarteum Solitär. Prior concert appearances have included the Orchestra of St. Luke’s Young Artists Series, Nordic Artists of New York (NANY) True North Festival, Gijón International Piano Festival, Lindeblad School of Music Artist Series, and Peekskill Concerts at Noon Recital Series. He divides his artistic attention equally between solo piano, chamber music and art song repertoire; and has worked with singers as a German diction coach for opera and art song (Lied). Past collaborators in chamber music and art song have included Timothy Tse, Clara Cho, Nathan Cox, Hafrún Birna Björnsdóttir, Laura Kießkalt, Jonah Hoskins, and Johannes Linneballe.

Born in La Jolla, California, Cade Roberts holds degrees in piano from the Manhattan School of Music and Brigham Young University and pursued additional studies at Mozarteum University. He studied piano with Marc Silverman, Claudius Tanski, Stephen Beus; chamber music with David Geber and David Jolley; art song with Thérèse Lindquist; and harpsichord/continuo with Joselyn Stewart. In addition, Roberts has participated in masterclasses with Robert McDonald, José Ramón Mendez, Walter Fleischmann, Wolfgang Watzinger, Douglas Humphreys, Logan Skelton, Boris Berman, Roland Krüger, Alvin Zhu, Natalya Antonova, Tamás Ungár, and Wolfgang Brunner. He has taught on the piano faculty at the Bronx Conservatory of Music and the Marymount School of New York and currently works as a rehearsal assistant at the Metropolitan Opera.

Cade lives in New York City with his wife, Kristiina, where they enjoy going to restaurants, museums, and long walks in the park.
